Padahal ,proyek jalan yang dikerjakan pada tahun anggaran 2023, namun tidak kelar tersebut sangat mengganggu aktifitas pengguna jalan. Karena jalan tersebut baru di kerjakan satu sisinya saja, sehingga tidak bisa dilalui kendaraan roda empat dan roda dua saat berpapasan di ruas jalan tersebut

” Kalau kami dari kalabahi pas sampe di jalan ini terus ketemu trek atau mobil roda empat dari arah Mainang maka kami harus menunggu sampai mobil lewat baru kami lanjutkan perjalanan. Sebab, sisi kanan yang sudah dikerjakan sedangkan sisi kiri jalan kalau dari kalabahi , penuh material dan berlubang-lubang sehingga kami harus berhenti,”ujar salah satu warga Desa Menetwati yang di temui media ini di lokasi dia pekan lalu tersebut.
Sementara itu, Markus, salah satu warga desa welai timur, mengatakan, jalan tersebut di kerjakan pada tahun 2023, namun belum selesai para pekerja telah pulang. Padahal ada tumpukan material diantaranya batu picah(kerikil) dan pasir masih ada.
Menurutnya, jika tidak segerah di kerjakan dalam waktu dekat, maka saat musim hujan nanti jalan tersebut bakalan tambah hancur di bawah banjir. Apalagi jalan yang baru di kerjakan tahun lalu itu, sudah mulai keropos dan rusak di beberapa titik pada permukaanya, ujarnya.
Kepala dinas Pekerjaan umum dan perumahan (PUPR), melalui kepala bidang Bina marga, Sofyan Abddulah yang di temui di salah satu bengkel di Kalabahi mengatakan, Proyek tersebut di kerjakan oleh kontraktor alor menggunakan Perusahan dari Kupang. Namun dalam perjalanan, ada mis komunikasi antara kedua nya sehingga proyek dengan penunjukan langsung (PL) , karena nilainya di bawa 200 juta itu, macet.
Namun kata Sofyan, sisah nilai proyek tersebut akan di PL kan lagi pada tahun ini untuk dilanjutkan pekerjaannya. Menurutnya, keuangan proyek tersebut baru dicairkan 30 persen , sementara fisiknya sudah lebih , sehingga tidak ada masalah.***

Why timber?
While the use of mass timber is steadily increasing worldwide, thanks to changes in building regulations and shifting attitudes towards the material, it has yet to match the sheer height of buildings made of concrete and steel — although a slew of timber high-rises have been proposed in recent years. MGA says its tower design would be approximately 600 feet (182 meters) tall — more than double the 284 feet (87 meter) tall Ascent tower.
“The race for height is important,” said Michael Green, an architect and founder of MGA. “It’s not about showing off, it’s about showing what’s possible to the public.”
He argued that the reason timber skyscrapers haven’t yet become mainstream is because climate change hasn’t been at the center of the conversation. “We didn’t really need to challenge the status quo of steel and concrete,” he said. “But because those materials are so hard on the climate, we had to find a different way to build towers and big buildings in general.”
