Medan, metroalor.com- Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) bersama Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO), yakni PT Bursa Efek Indonesia, PT Kliring Penjaminan Efek Indonesia, dan PT Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia kembali menggelar kuliah umum untuk meningkatkan literasi Pasar Modal kepada generasi muda dalam rangka mendorong inklusi keuangan dan percepatan pemulihan ekonomi nasional .
Ketua Dewan Komisioner OJK, Mahendra Siregar dan Kepala Eksekutif Pengawas Pasar Modal, Inarno Djajadi memberikan materi edukasi keuangan pada kuliah umum di Auditorium Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), Medan, Selasa 4/10/22.
Kuliah umum yang dihadiri oleh 1.200 mahasiswa USU dan juga diikuti secara hybrid oleh berbagai universitas di wilayah Sumatera Utara ini merupakan rangkaian kegiatan Sosialisasi dan Edukasi Pasar Modal Terpadu (SEPMT) 2022 dalam rangka memperingati 45 tahun diaktifkannya kembali Pasar Modal Indonesia dan Bulan Inklusi Keuangan 2022.
Dalam paparannya, Mahendra menyampaikan saat ini ekonomi Indonesia masih terus tumbuh meskipun berada di tengah tekanan karena gejolak perekonomian global. Oleh karenanya, OJK berharap semua pihak dapat bersinergi dan berkolaborasi untuk menjaga momentum pertumbuhan ekonomi Indonesia ini.
Mahendra juga berpesan kepada para mahasiswa sebagai sentral sumber daya manusia yang unggul dan berkualitas agar dapat memahami pesan strategisnya untuk membawa perekonomian Indonesia ke depan agar dapat bertahan dan terus tumbuh berkelanjutan.
“Kuncinya ada di mahasiswa dan generasi muda yang mayoritas sekarang di Indonesia. Dengan kualitas SDM, kemampuan daya beli, dan pemahaman bagaimana berinvestasi, maka pasar dalam negeri Indonesia akan semakin besar, sehingga kita tidak bergantung lagi pada efek ekonomi dunia,” kata Mahendra.
Kepala Eksekutif Pengawas Pasar Modal Inarno Djajadi juga mengingatkan kepada para mahasiswa agar terus waspada dan berhati-hati terhadap segala bentuk penipuan berkedok investasi atau investasi ilegal di tengah banyaknya tawaran investasi yang beredar di masyarakat terutama melalui dunia digital.
“Mohon pelajari dan pahami dulu segala bentuk produk dan izin dari pihak yang menawarkannya. Di samping itu, gunakan sumber dana di luar kebutuhan pokok maupun dana cadangan, dan jangan menggunakan pinjaman, apalagi pinjaman online ilegal untuk bertransaksi di Pasar Modal,” kata Inarno.
Dalam rangka meningkatkan perlindungan investor, OJK juga akan terus melakukan edukasi kepada masyarakat, melakukan pengembangan Notasi Khusus dan papan pemantauan khusus di BEI, mengimplementasikan Disgorgement dan Disgorgement fund dan optimalisasi Dana Perlindungan Pemodal, serta terus melakukan tindakan supervisory action dan penegakan hukum atas terjadinya pelanggaran peraturan di bidang Pasar Modal.
Melalui berbagai langkah-langkah tersebut, OJK mencatat jumlah investor di Pasar Modal secara nasional terus mengalami peningkatan. Hingga 29 September 2022, jumlah investor mencapai 9,76 juta. Pertumbuhan jumlah investor ritel ini juga masih didominasi oleh investor yang berusia di bawah 30 tahun sebesar 59,43 persen.
Khusus di wilayah Sumatera Utara, OJK mencatat bahwa jumlah investor Pasar Modal mengalami pertumbuhan yang cukup menggembirakan, dari semula 343.303 SID pada akhir 2021, meningkat 30,41 persen menjadi 447.712 SID pada 30 September 2022. Dengan jumlah penduduk sebesar 14,93 juta dan jumlah usia produktif mencapai 69,10 persen atau sekitar 7,51 juta, tentunya Provinsi Sumatera Utara masih sangat berpotensi untuk terus meningkatkan jumlah investor di Pasar Modal.
Dalam kunjungan kerjanya di Medan, Mahendra Siregar dan Inarno Djajadi juga menghadiri Pertemuan dengan Calon Emiten Potensial di Sumatera Utara. Acara tersebut digelar untuk memperkuat engagement antara CEO perusahaan di daerah dengan OJK, Bursa Efek Indonesia, perusahaan Sekuritas dan pihak terkait lainnya dalam rangka memperkenalkan Pasar Modal sebagai sumber pendanaan bagi perusahaan yang potensial.
